Northeast Ohio Wedding Show

Listen in as the owners of 2nd Mile Productions, Genevieve Nisly Photography and Always Eventful event planing discuss their experiences working in Northeast Ohio. Their aim is simply to help brides navigate the minefield of planning a wedding in the area and provide new perspectives, ideas and solutions to help make the day amazing.

On this weeks show we discuss tips for making you photos and video the best that they can be. We didn’t have a particular order during the show since we were merging several lists so I decided to make a nice and neat list that you find below.

Before the Day:

  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Stay hydrated on the wedding day and the week before
  • Test your make up in photos
  • Secure permission from the locations where you want photos and video
  • Plan extra time for travel between locations

During the Day:

  • NO GUM! Get mints for everyone!
  • Face powder and blotting cloths are your friends
  • Smile: Don’t just smile when a formal photo is being taken

During and After the Ceremony:

  • See each other before the ceremony
  • Clear everyone out from behind the bride when she is coming down the aisle
  • Walk down the aisle slowly… enjoy the moment!
  • Have formal “Shot List” for your photographer and assign someone from the family to help organize people
  • Skip the park: Ask your photographer for alternate locations

During the Reception:

  • Work with your photographer and videographer on the lighting for your reception
  • Clear the reception hall 10 minutes before your guests enter
  • First Dance: Don’t choreograph a dance unless you completely comfortable with it
  • Don’t talk about anything else except for each other during the first dance
